Welcome to the PIO Bulletin Board

This is the NIFC/PIO Bulletin Board and it is just what the title says - a place where PIOs can obtain information about season themes, background papers, and policy statements, plus a whole bunch of links that should help you on the job. Our target audience is Type I and Type II information officers as well as PIOFs. We hope that this site will make your job a bit easier and help you to become more proficient. And we also have our fingers crossed that it will help all of us be more consistent in what we say.

This is still a work in progress. As the season wears on, we'll try to update you with the latest information. If there's an issue or problem that you'd like help on, let one of the EA staff at NIFC know, and we'll track down an answer, try to get it approved by a fire director or NMAC, and then post the answer on this site. You can find a roster of the NIFC EA staff at the bottom of the page.

Questions? Send them our way. Comments and suggestions? Same thing. This site won't be perfect in the beginning. But if it works according to our plans for it, we’ll have something that will be of help to you.
