Mann Gulch
body retrieval using special Stokes stretcher with extension handles and
carrying harness with a good view of terrain and fuel. Needles were burned
from the bottom branches; tops were green; in some areas tops burned and
the bottoms were green—result of a heat wave (noted by photographer). |

fire. Ponderosa pine still has needles—indicating less intense fire
in this location. |
