Incident Management Teams are required to maintain accountability of items in order to keep incident-related equipment and supply loss to a minimum. Chapter 30 of the Interagency Incident Business Management Handbook provides guidelines and procedures. The Fire Loss/Use Rate Report also provides detailed information regarding consumable and durable item use. This report has been accepted by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group for all wildland fire agencies. The Great Basin Cache compiles this report for each Type I and Type II incident that it services, then forwards the report to the Agency Administrator within 60 days of the close of the incident. The Agency Administrator reviews the Fire Loss/Use Rate Report. If losses are excessive, the Agency Administrator recommends the appropriate follow-up action. Actions and recommendations are documented and filed in the final incident records.
