Incident Management Teams (IMTs)

CIMT National Rotation

The national rotation is managed by NICC to provide available CIMTs when needed to support any geographic area or national need. Each geographic area manages an internal rotation appropriately to meet their membership’s needs throughout the year. 2026 National Rotation

The national rotation is updated each Thursday, when the new rotation week begins, and as needed based on CIMT assignments. Two Geographic Areas will be identified on rotation each week from October through April. All nine Geographic Areas will rotate weekly in a rolling format from May through September. Availability is identified by Geographic Area only, not by specific CIMT.

Orders will be placed to Geographic Areas in order of the national rotation, provided a team can meet the date and time needed. Historical data suggests a median of three assignments per calendar year per CIMT is an optimal goal for NMAC and Geographic Areas to manage towards. Reference the National Interagency Standards for Resource Mobilization, specifically Chapter 20 Overhead and Teams, for additional guidance.

Regardless of Preparedness Level, NMAC retains the authority to manage all team assignments or amend the national rotation as necessary.
