Mental health resources are important to the well being of our wildland firefighters, fire managers, and support personnel. The Federal Wildland Firefighter Health and Wellbeing Program supports wildland fire personnel across the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the U.S. Department of the Interior. It takes a comprehensive approach to improving the health and wellbeing of federal and Tribal wildland firefighters by working alongside existing agency services to provide additional support tailored to the unique experiences and needs of wildland firefighters.
The Wildland Fire Therapy Service provides mental health treatment for federal wildland fire personnel through a nationwide network of licensed providers with expertise in addressing the unique needs of emergency responders.
The Employee Assistance Program and Critical Incident Stress Management are resources available to our employees.
